About MoneyRanked
Our Story
MoneyRanked was founded in 2024 by a team of personal finance experts who were frustrated by the lack of truly independent, data-driven financial product comparisons online. Too many comparison sites buried the best options under paid placements and opaque ranking systems. We set out to build something better: a platform where rankings are earned, not bought.
Today, MoneyRanked covers personal loans, mortgages, investment platforms, credit cards, savings accounts, insurance, and more — serving readers across the United States, United Kingdom, and the Netherlands.
Our Mission
Our mission is simple: help everyday consumers make smarter financial decisions through unbiased, data-driven comparisons. We believe that access to clear, honest financial information should not be a privilege — it should be a right.
Our Editorial Process
Every product reviewed on MoneyRanked goes through a rigorous multi-step editorial process:
- Research: Our analysts collect data directly from product providers, including publicly available rates, terms, fees, and eligibility criteria.
- Testing: Where possible, our team applies for or uses the product firsthand, or gathers verified user experience data.
- Scoring: Products are scored across standardised criteria relevant to each category — such as APR, approval speed, and customer service ratings — using a weighted scoring methodology developed by our editorial team.
- Review: All content is reviewed for accuracy by a second editor before publication.
- Updates: We review and update product listings at least quarterly, or immediately when major rate changes occur.
Our rankings are determined solely by our scoring methodology. Affiliate relationships do not influence scores or editorial content.
How We Make Money
MoneyRanked earns revenue through affiliate commissions. When a reader clicks a link to a financial product and completes an application or purchase, we may receive a commission from the product provider or affiliate network. This does not cost you anything extra.
Importantly, affiliate relationships do not influence our rankings or editorial opinions. We may choose not to feature a product that offers high commissions if it does not meet our quality standards, and we regularly feature products that pay us no commission at all because they represent genuinely good value for consumers.
